Not so friendly green apple bookman
As a local bay area book loving person,
you can not forget the famous green apple bookstore located in San Francisco.
And for many many years,
I was a customer and book-lover who has been visiting the store since high school.
However, my recent encounters with green apple store was not satisfying,
it was actually,
very un-satisfying and UNreasonable.
It was when I needed to ask for few reference books, (specially guns and armors)
and I asked this man who was shelving the books.
He gave real quick glance and said "it should be over that area" and eye-signaled where I "CAME" from.
I said I looked over there and was wondering if he could help me with it.
He goes, "if it isn't there, it's not."
and went back to his business.
quiet upset,
I was looking around the shelves.
and within few minutes his friend or "regular" customer(caucasian) walks in and asks for something about paper origami/ folding books.
This man, with GREAT smile on his face now, volunteers to find books with him.
He even suggests,
"Hmm, I can go check downstairs to see if we have it there"
"Do you need anything else? Are you sure? Let me help ya"
By then, I was quiet upset.
He was the same guy who was completely helpless when I asked about tree house books few months ago.
Quiet upset
and feel betrayed by my favorite book store,
I went to front desk to ask for comment box.
This time, the lady goes like this,
"I don't know. Why don't you write down on some piece of paper and I will read it later or something"
Quiet MORE upset,
I just bought the book
and left very very uneasy about this bookstore.
What happened here?
anyways...
kree left to Alaska today.
nothing seems to be the same.
i left san francisco
without smile or regret.
unlike how I would usually do......weird.
